The 2018-2019 Jackson Academy basketball season has come to an end. The Raiders had an overall record of 23-11. They also went 8-2 in conference
play. In the AAAA-1 State Tournament at MRA, the Raiders beat Prep before falling short in the championship game against MRA. Then in the Overall Tournament at Mississippi College, they defeated Marshall and Simpson Academy before their successful season came to an end against Heritage Academy. The Raiders faced adversity from the beginning of the season by switching coaches twice, but Coach Brooks did a tremendous job of having this team ready to compete every game. Thanks to the seniors: Owen Fracchia, Tafarri Pleas, Rob McDowell, and Tanner Robertson for their guidance and leadership for the underclassmen. Great things are head for Coach Brooks and this Raider basketball team!
The Lady Raiders also enjoyed a successful and exciting season. This year’s team went 27-6 and 10-0 in conference play. The 2018-2019 Lady
Raiders won the AAAA-1 State Tournament by beating Jackson Prep in the championship game. This was the 4th straight state title for Coach Sojourner. The Lady Raiders saw their season come to an end in the Overall Tournament against Lamar. A special thanks to these Lady Raider seniors for their leadership this year: Ashton Berry, Erin Hederman, Avery Hederman, Sara Wilson Fielder, Camille Couey, Gabrielle Morris, and Lailaa Bashir. These seniors left the 2019-2020 Lady Raiders ready for success!
