om Holland is known world-wide for his role as Spider-Man. Recently some devastating news has come to light about whether or not Spider-Man will continue to be in Marvel movies. Tom Holland was originally in a contract with Disney. Disney had the main contract with him, but Sony was acquiring 95% of all profits from the Spider-Man movies in exchange for Spider-Man to be able to be in the Marvel movies. After the phenomenal support and profit the last two Spidey movies had, it was evident that Disney would want more of the profit for future Spider-Man movies. Unfortunately Sony and Disney could not come to an agreement, which evidently ended the Spider-Man trilogy associated with Marvel Studios.
Fans were absolutely stunned by this dramatic turn in Spider-Man’s faith. Sony’s previous reboots of Spider-Man didn’t achieve as much success as it could have. People are concerned whether the future Spider-Man movies will live up to the reputation of Far From Home. Twitter User “No Context Sean Mulvihill” states, “I think it’s cool that Sony is carrying on its tradition of completely screwing up Spider-Man 3.”
Tom Holland was very optimistic about the split from the MCU and his future. He states in an interview with Entertainment, “Basically we’ve made five great movies. Five amazing years… it’s been the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds. But all I know is that I’m gonna continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. However we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing. We will find new ways to make it even cooler somehow.”
