he Jackson Academy Raiders took on the Oak Forest Academy Jackets on 20 September 2019. The game was played on home turf in Jackson, MS. This game was the second conference game of the season.
The Raiders played the Jackets for the 10th time in history, and have won 9 out of 10 games with them. JA was the first to place numbers on the scoreboard after a 32 yard field goal by Land Gebhart. In the second quarter, a massive touchdown resulted from an interception return from Tae Stewart. Oak Forest continued to fight back and scored right before the second quarter ended. The Raiders were still leading.
Marcus Harris had an outstanding career game that night. He finished off the game with a touchdown in the 4th quarter to give JA a huge score advantage. He had a career high of 36 carries, gained a total of 214 yards, and had sunk in 2 TDS. As a result, Marcus Harris is among the 10 finalists for the Clarion Ledger Athlete of the Week.
The final score of the matchup was 34-21. A highly needed victory for JA as it brings them 1-1 in conference play and 3-2 in overall season stats. Jackson Academy will have an away game on 27 September 2019. They will take on the Pelahatchie Chiefs for the first time in school history.
